The 2025 World Digital Health Forum, held on March 28th, was jointly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Tsinghua University. This year, the forum’s opening remarks were delivered by Li Xiaohong, president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Sui Zhenjiang, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Beijing Municipal Government; Zeng Rong, vice president of Tsinghua University; and Dong Jiahong, chair of the Forum Presidium and dean of the School of Clinical Medicine (Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital), Tsinghua University.

From January 20 to 21, Tsinghua President Li Luming attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2025 in Davos. He also attended the Global University Leaders Forum, the Board Meeting 2024-2025 of the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate (GAUC). Li and his delegation held a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings with representatives from various sectors, further deepening international exchange and cooperation.

From January 17 to 18, Tsinghua President Li Luming led a delegation to Germany, where he met with the presidents of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) to discuss innovative models for the development of higher education and strengthen university cooperation. He also visited the Adidas headquarters, and held a meeting with alumni in Munich.

The delegation visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and held meetings with various sectors to promote the expansion of collaboration between the University and the UAE in the fields of education, research and talent development.

The trip aimed to deepen cooperation and exchanges between Tsinghua University and its cooperative partners in the UK. The delegation attended the 2024 Global MOOC and Online Education Conference (GMC), the China-UK Universities Roundtable and the Launch of the UK Young Envoys Scholarship Programme, and the AUPC-LERU Presidents’ Dialogue, and visited Queen Mary University of London, Imperial College London, and the University of Surrey. Additionally, they visited the Chinese Embassy in the UK and engaged with Tsinghua alumni in the UK.

On Dec 5th, TEDxTHU 2024 took place at Multifunctional Hall, Mong Man Wai building, Tsinghua University. Vice Provost Professor Wong Tien Yin delivered the opening remarks. The theme, “Resilience”, aligned perfectly with Tsinghua’s vision of building a “more open, integrative, and resilient university.” A dozen speakers from various disciplines such as communication, sustainable development, urban ergonomics, brain science, climate change, public health, aerospace, and sports shared their profound insights, enriching the discourse on cutting-edge topics and propelling the vision of a united community towards the future.

On the morning of November 20, local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in Brasilia, Brazil. The two heads of state announced the elevation of China-Brazil relations to building a China-Brazil community with a shared future for a more just world and a more sustainable planet.
